Uno dei temi principali del libro dei Giudici, insieme all'anarchia, è quello della "trascuratezza". La trascuratezza, è un'anomalia nella vita del credente, che non nasce di punto in bianco. Nel libro dei Giudici, sono principalmente quattro i gradini che hanno portato il popolo di Dio alla trascuratezza e all'anarchia Spirituali.
